Nature Field Trip Report In Toraja

Hello guys ..
This is my second story on this blog. :)

I will tell you about the best tour experience with classmates.  The tour which until now still feels excitement, in other words, I failed to move on hehehe.

So... on Monday, October 21, 2019, we went to Toraja.  At 07.30, we gathered at the beloved campus, Makassar Tourism Polytechnic.

After everyone gathered, we immediately boarded the bus and headed for Kupa Beach Restaurant, which is one of the restaurants in Barru Regency.  We were welcomed very well.  One form of welcoming is by 'Welcome Drink' which is served coconut water drinks.  Hmm, it tastes really good, it's my first time drink it hehehe.

At the restaurant, we also pray.  Next, we continued our journey to Bambapuang or Buttu Kabobo which is sometimes called 'Gunung Nona' in Enrekang Regency.  Hmm, you have to visit this 'Gunung Nona'.  Because you can see a very beautiful view from here.  Seriously.

In here we enjoy coffee breaks, fried bananas, and various kinds of food that we want to eat.  And here also we can get various kinds of Enrekang typical cakes.

After we enjoyed a coffee break, we continued our journey to one of the hotels in Toraja, the Indra Toraja Hotel.  We arrived at the Toraja hotel around 7 pm.

We rushed to take a shower and wear batik clothes to enjoy dinner at the penyet ria chicken restaurant.  After dinner, we conducted an evaluation between participants, tour leaders, and lecturers regarding the tour on the first day.  After that, we returned to the hotel and rested to have a sweet dream.

The next day, we were awakened by the hotel clerk via telephone at 5 am.  We rushed to breakfast.  In this hotel provides fried rice, omelette, white bread, tea, coffee, milk, and drinking water to enjoy.

After breakfast, we headed to Timenbayo by bus.  On the way, we met a truck that was stuck in a ditch.  We decided to help by pushing the truck car.  Alhamdulillaah, the truck can be used again.

Arriving in Timenbayo, we saw a traditional Toraja house and a rice barn.  And we heard explanations about it from our friends and lecturers.  And in Timenbayo, I could see buffalo for the first time in person.  Hehehe.  We take photos there.

Next, we started the trekking trip to Mentiro Tiku Restaurant.  Hm, it is said in the rundown that the journey to the restaurant will only require a little energy, because we will only be doing soft-trekking.  And in reality, we are like an adventure because the terrain is very challenging.

We pass through forests, mud, rock climbing and various other activities.  It was very tiring and made my legs hurt, but I was very happy, because I really like adventures.

Arriving at Mentiro Tiku Restaurant, I felt my struggle was not in vain.  Because I can see a very beautiful view from the restaurant.  Ahhh, so beautiful.

At the Mentiro Tiku restaurant, we enjoyed a Toraja specialty called Pa'piong.  Pa'piong is a food whose main ingredients are all kinds of meat.  For the Rambu Solo ceremony, in general, the Toraja make Pa'piong with the main ingredient being pork.  However, for some restaurants that provide Pa'piong, they make it with the main ingredient of chicken meat, because given the increasing number of Muslim tourists visiting Toraja.

After lunch, we continued our trekking.  We passed houses and Toraja graves.  And also we passed the Toraja people who were cutting pork in preparation for carrying out the Rambu Solo ceremony.

We also visited Erong Lombok Parinding which is one of the tourist attractions in Toraja.  In it we will find various kinds of human skulls that have died.

It was getting late and dark, we decided to go back to the hotel.  However, while on the way, we stopped by one of the souvenirs as well as a weaving place called 'Todi' in Toraja.

After that, we returned to the hotel on foot, because the distance was not far from the hotel we were staying.  Next we performed evening prayers and evening prayers for Muslims.  After that, we had dinner at Aras Cafe, which is the best restaurant in Toraja.

After dinner, we sang together and created memories - very valuable memories for us. After various activities we did, we returned to the hotel to rest.

On the 3rd day, we returned to Makassar. We visited the Kaa Toraja Coffee.

And then, we visited the Laki Padada.
And then, we stopped at Bambapuang like the first day.  And we had lunch at Teras Empang Restoran, Barru Regency.  We continued our journey, and we had dinner at one of the restaurants located in the Grand Mall Maros.

And finally, we arrived in Makassar around 9 pm.  Finally we returned to our respective homes.

This is the story of my experience in Toraja.  I recommend you to go to Toraja :) Because you can get a lot of things in Toraja ...
